? The global user community provides data about suspicious activities and attempted malware infections to the Kaspersky Security Network, adding over a million files daily.
? This data, combined with our Lab’s own list of files, web resources, and software profiles further strengthen Kaspersky’s reputation database consisting of billions of records.
? When a new threat appears on a user’s system, the Kaspersky Security Network immediately provides a response. This is faster than the traditional methods of protection that require frequently downloaded updates. ?The Kaspersky Security Network also contains a whitelist, detailing millions of trusted applications, reducing the risk of false positive detections.

Slide 7Many vendors offer application control, but the Kaspersky approach is uniquely different:
? Application Control allows the organization to control access to applications in a number of ways - includnig pre-defined categories, such as instant messaging. ?Administrators can grant, block, or audit the launch of applications at the endpoint.
* Application Control is used to enforce user and application privileges on a system, and restrict what an application is allowed to do while running. ?It can also enforce policies that support data encryption efforts.
? Security Center also creates an inventory of applications in use at the endpoint enabling the creation of an application control policy. These are supported by extensive pre-defined Kaspersky categories containing millions of known and trusted files.

Slide 8An important element of Kaspersky Endpoint Security is Web Control.
This component filters web traffic based on selected criteria, regardless of the endpoint location, allowing the administrator to set and enforce policies for web browsing.
? Filtering can be configured to group and user levels
? Additionally, web control policies can be created that apply to website category or content. ?For example, many companies do not want their employees on Facebook during certain times of the day. ?Or perhaps Facebook is accepted, but Facebook videos are not. Kaspersky Endpoint Security can enforce the required policy at the endpoint.
? Because this feature is integrated with the Kaspersky Security Network, it is constantly updated from the cloud with the latest ?URL classification data so administrators do not need to spend resources manually updating address lists.

Slide 9The ? Device Control component restricts access to devices that are connected at the endpoint. ?For example, USB storage devices, printers and scanners.
? The administrator can control the use of interfaces, such as USB, serial, and infrared that are commonly used to attach devices.
? Device Control can be applied at a very granular level, down to the individual device ID. For example, an administrator can allow a user to only exchange data with a company supplied USB memory stick.
? Devices can also be granted or denied access based on a schedule. For example, USB storage devices may only be allowed to transfer data during certain hours.
It can even restrict activity to the reading or writing of data.

Slide 10Kaspersky’s endpoint encryption technology uses proven and trusted encryption methods to secure data and ensure only those authorised can access it. Administrators have the ability to apply encryption in multiple ways. For example :
? File and folder-level encryption secures data by encrypting files and folders on any storage device. Remaining data on the device is left unencrypted and unsecured.?
? Full Disk Encryption can be used to encrypt entire storage devices. Any data stored on the device will be encrypted and secured.
User level features can also be enabled, allowing users to create encrypted packages and share data securely.
? Additionally, Pre-Boot Authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring users to provide a password prior to starting the endpoint operating system. Without this password, the operating system and data will be completely inaccessible.
? Kaspersky Security Center provides centralized management of data protection policies, that define which files, folders and storage devices are encrypted.
Kaspersky Endpoint Encryption protects data at rest, data in use and data in motion, securing data transparently without affecting user productivity.
